Mission

St. Mary’s Center is a 501 (c) (3) Organization which serves mentally challenged members of the Louisville community. Since 1993, St. Mary’s Center has consistently enhanced the lives of its students through its adult day program, teen after-school program and athletics program for all ages. St. Mary’s currently serves 150 persons and maintains a strong reputation of being one of Louisville’s most successful programs for our citizens with special needs.

St. Mary’s has a three fold mission:

  1. To foster a positive self image and encourage greater independence and productivity among its students.
  2. To provide opportunities for personal, educational and social growth through myriad community activities and relationships.
  3. To improve the quality of family life for its students through improved social skills and increase functioning levels.

St Mary’s Center has developed a program of activities and classes which are specifically designed for each client’s individual needs. These programs and activities include weekly field trips, athletic training and competitions, team building, and health and nutrition.

St. Mary’s Center is not affiliated with or supported by any large community of religious agencies. Other than a modest tuition paid only by those students who are able, St. Mary’s relies strictly on the generosity of the community, through individual donations and the support of fundraisers , to maintain a standard of quality. Clients are never turned away because of an inability to pay.
