Thank you to Lauren Hayden for her amazing contributions
Recently, St. Albert the Great Catholic grade school student Lauren Hayden raised over $1200 dollars in support of St Mary’s Center. Lauren set out to raise $500 on a 5k run for her Confirmation service project. She knocked it out of the park by more than doubling her goal. She did it by creating a flyer and having the courage to send it to people she knew. It takes courage to ask others to support a worthy cause, much less in this economy we find ourselves in. St. Mary’s center wants to thank Lauren for her efforts and the funds. They along with the contributions of many others help to keep St Mary’s Center open and operating. Which in turn gives the adults in the video below a great place to call home during the day.
Lauren presented her contribution to the developmentally disabled students and the staff at St Mary’s Center. They had a touching gift for her as well. The video below touches the heart. Take a few moments and watch.
It’s not every day you see a story like this. Please share this post on Twitter or Facebook. Email the youtube link to friends and family. This video captures the power of the human spirit and also tells the story of an amazing place in Louisville KY.
St Mary’s Center is located on Main St in Middletown and has been providing day programs for developmentally disabled adults for almost 18 years. If you’re interested in supporting St Mary’s or in volunteering your time, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d love to take you on a tour and connect with you.
Golf Scramble Update
We want to thank everyone for another successful golf scramble and rock drop. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate but you guys sure did. Thanks to all our sponsors and partners in this event as well.
Your support and donations raised $32,028.50 for the special people at St. Mary’s Center. May your generosity be returned many times over in blessings and satisfaction. The rock winner was #88 Brad Naiser.
And of course a good yet wet time was had by all.
Thanks from the Golf Committee: Jesse Mudd, Bill Bond, Sr. Regina Bevelacqua, Mary Jo Payne along with St Mary’s Staff and Students.
