Golf Outing
The 14th annual St. Mary’s Golf Outing is coming up on Thursday, September 30th at Quail Chase Golf Course. The event sponsor is Frank Otte Nursery. We offer morning and afternoon tee times. Our fabulous ‘Meat Men BBQ lunch and fixings” is back and is generously sponsored by David Harrod. The golf outing entry fee is $100 per person.
The fun and excitement of our Rock Drop will take place at 1:15 p.m. near the putting green area. This is where golf balls “rocks” are dropped from a helicopter or a lift (inclement weather). Chances are sold for $100 to buy a rock (numbered golf ball). If your rock goes in the hole and stays in the hole, you win $20,000. If a rock does not drop in the golf hole, closest to the hole wins $10,000. You do not need to be present to win. The Rock Drop is sponsored by the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association. Rocks are sold up to one minute before the helicopter takes off.
New this year is a Putting Challenge with an opportunity to win $50,000. Golfers purchase a chance to attempt a 30′ putt. The five golfers that either make the putt or are the closest to the hole from both the morning session and also the afternoon session qualify for the putting finals. The 10 finalists attempt a 50′ putt to win the $50,000.
Join the fun by playing in the golf outing, buying a rock, participating in the silent auction and winning an item or volunteering to help. Come out and watch the Rocks drop! Please contact Ann Hurst, Director of Development at 244-0082 or ann@saintmaryscenter.org with any questions.
